Missions Crash Course Weekend

Kontaktmission will be holding its Missions Crash Course Weekend from May 27th to May 30th in Wustenrot, Germany and you are invited. 

Crash course weekend is a time for people from all over Europe and the United States to come together in Germany to learn practical strategies for missions, be enriched, meet other current and future missionaries, and to become familiar with Kontaktmission. 

Crash course weekend is part of all of our GoConnect trips that take place in May.  This includes, Greece, Lithuania, and Albania.

Short Term Mission Trips For Adults

Kontaktmission USA's GoConnect Program has multiple short term missions opportunities for adults in 2010.

Our spring trips are shorter in length, and allow for missing only one week of work.  In March of 2010 we will be going to:

Vienna, Austria
Murcia, Spain
Berlin, Germany

Our May trips are longer in length and offer time at our short term missions training weekend in Germany before the trip.  These include:

Korca, Albania
Thessaloniki, Greece
Klaipeda, Lithuania

We also offer more specialized trips happening over the summer and fall.

In July we are going to Hungary to conduct a baseball camp and teach english and in October we'll be heading to Belgium.

GoConnect Short Term Missions Trip, Vienna, Austria March 14-21, 2010, $795

Details of Kontaktmission USA's short term GoConnect trip to Vienna, Austrian are now available:

After you fly into Stuttgart, Germany, you will be picked up by our local team and our trip will start in Wustenrot, Germany at the Hotel Raitelberg. From there we will drive to Vienna, where our host missionaries will be Cristoph and Sophie Windler.  We will teach english in the local middle schools and high schools and share our testimonies to local chrisitans.  There is also an opportunity to lead worship in the local church.  We will spend an off day touring Vienna.

This trip begins and ends in Stuttgart, Germany.  Price includes transportation from Stuttgart, lodging, food, t-shirt, insurance and materials.  You are responsible for airfare to Stuttgart and should arrive on March 14th.  Your return flight home should be from Stuttgart and should leave on March 21st.  Passport required.

GoConnect Trip to Thessaloniki, Greece May 27, 2010 - June 5, 2010, $1095

Details of Kontaktmission USA's GoConnect trip to Thessaloniki, Greece are available:

After you fly into Stuttgart, Germany, you will be picked up by our local team and our trip will start in Wustenrot, Germany at the Hotel Raitelberg where we hold our annual missions training weekend.   We will be joined by people from across Europe who are preparing to go on a short term trip, internship, or to serve as full time missionaries.  From there we will fly to Thessaloniki before returning to Wustenrot for our post trip debriefing.

Our host missionaries for this trip are Timotheos and Dorothea Antoniadis.  We will spend time doing community outreach in the local parks, praying over the city from a mountaintop, participating in weekly church services and touring historical Biblical sites such as Philippi.

Korca, Albania 2010 Short Term Missions Trip, May 27, 2010 - June 5, 2010 $1095

The details of Kontaktmission USA's GoConnect trip to Albania in 2010 are finalized and registrations are open. 

After you fly into Stuttgart, Germany, you will be picked up by our local team and our trip will start in Wustenrot, Germany at the Hotel Raitelberg where we hold our annual missions training weekend.   We will be joined by people from across Europe who are preparing to go on a short term trip, internship, or to serve as full time missionaries.  From there we will fly to Albania before returning to Wustenrot for our post trip debriefing.

While in Albania we will base in Korca, and Tirana.  Our host missionaries for the week are Daniela and Lorenc Ahmet who serve with Kontaktmission.  They are involved in a dynamic church plant in the city of Korca.  We will help them with local outreach projects and particpate in their weekly church activities.

Developing A Passion For Missions

Allie Marmion wrote this week in her blog about developing a passion for missions, and going on a GoConnect trip.

"Missions is my passion.  I love going on missions trips, leading them and talking about them.  I went on first mission trip when I was a sophomore in college.  I spent 10 weeks in Mexico City.  It was the most amazing time of my life.

It was great to get a good look at what missions really was and how the people responded to the missionaries and to the message of Jesus.  I was so moved by what God was doing, that after my sophomore year I decided to change my major. 

I had caught the mission "bug".  To this date I have been on over 20 mission trips.  I was amazed by how many people have not heard about Jesus.  I wanted to help bring that message to the people of all nations.  I understood what I read in Matthew 28:19.  There is a command there that we all should fulfill.  That verse talks about two types of participants, goers and senders. 

Which one are you?  Are you willing to go on a mission trip?  Would you rather give money to missionaries?  Decide which one you are and get to work.  We have a long way to go in fulfilling this command.  We must pray about our part and just do it.

Next Spring I am leading a trip to Thessaloniki, Greece.  It will be a great opportunity not just to bring the Word of God to the people there, but also to walk in the footsteps of Paul and others in the Bible.  What an amazing setting for bringing the Good News, Thessaloniki."

What is it really like to go to Europe on a mission Trip?

If you have never been on a short term mission trip or traveled to Europe it can be hard to get a good idea of what you'll see and face. Here is a first hand account of Marco and Amy, two missionary recruits to Germany. They visited our headquarters in Germany and attended a retreat with all of the Kontaktmission missionaries working in Europe. It is a diverse group of people, representing mission work in over 20 countries, and many languages. Everything is translated, so nobody misses the message. It is amazing to see how it all comes together, the meshing of culture and language for God's purpose.
